1.10.20, Stefan Ameres appointed University Professor in RNA Biology
Congratulations to Stefan Ameres for his promotion to hold a full professorship in RNA Biology at the University of Vienna at the Max Perutz Labs!
Stefan L. Ameres obtained his Master’s degree from the University Erlangen-Nuremberg (DE) and his Doctoral degree from the University of Vienna (AT). After postdoctoral training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (US), he joined the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA, AT) at the Vienna BioCenter as group leader in 2012.
He is now is joining the Max Perutz Labs at the Vienna Biocenter as Professor of RNA Biology. His research will focus on the biology and mechanisms of RNA silencing. See here more about the Ameres Lab now moving to the Max Perutz Labs.
Stefan Ameres has been full Faculty Member in our Doctoral Programme (DK) “RNA Biology” since 2014 as well as in the Special Research Program (SFB) “RNA Regulation of the Transcriptome” (2015-2019), and is now full member of the newly established SFB RNA-DECO.
Welcome to the Perutz new group leader and Professor for RNA Biology @univienna Stefan Ameres @AmeresSL! His research will focus on the mechanism and biology of #RNA silencing. About the Ameres Lab: https://t.co/3t7VZZqtXQ
