21.11.18, Open Science “Public Outreach Concept” together with DK RNA Biology
Open Science is a non-profit scientific association that stands for dialogue between science and the public. Together with our doctoral program in RNA Biology, Open Science has come up with a public outreach concept on the highly topical subject of genome editing with CRISPR/Cas.
The planned activities include:
- -) Visual Facilitation Workshop with pupils at middle and/or high schools
- -) Short videos with RNA researchers and online-tutorials for pupils
- -) Hands-On Stations for the broader public
- -) A webinar for school teachers
In March 2019 pilot workshops on “Ethical and social aspects of genome editing” will take place in three schools in Vienna. The aim is to reflect this complex topic with visually with picture language. In May and June 2019 another three workshops will be offered in interested schools.
